File/Folder name "con" in Windows

1. Goto any folder
2. Rename the folder as "con".
3. You can't rename it
Why??

Device names such as COMx, CON or LPTx are reserved words, and they can't be used as folder or file names.

How to create Desktop icon shortcut

Some of you may accidentally delete Desktop icon shortcut from Quick Launch. Don't sweat it! You can easily recreate it. Follow these steps.
1. Open your Notepad.
2. Type the following :
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
3. Save the file as Show Desktop.scf on the desktop.
4. After that, just drag and drop to the Quicklaunch bar.

Some places to look for who is linking to you:

  • Technorati - type your URL in and hit search and you'll find any blogs linking to you
  • Google Blog Search - another good tool for real time link tracking
  • Your Blog's Metrics - any worthwhile stats package will give you a 'referrals' stat that shows incoming links. I use Google Analytics but you could also use Sitemeter, Mint, AW Stats or one of many other metrics tools.
  • Search Engines - type in 'link:http://www.yourblog.com at Yahoo or Google and you'll find incoming links to your blog - note: this isn't a quick or immediate method of finding recent links.
