How to: Restore Run Command in Windows Vista

If you are using the default Windows Vista start menu, you will be surprised to see the lack of the commonly used Run command option. The newly designed start menu almost hides this feature. Fortunately, you can enable it yourselves.

Here is how to enable it:

  1. Right Click Start Menu and select properties.
  2. In Start Menu tab, you will see a button for customization.
  3. Click on it and scroll through for the “Run command” check box.
  4. Select it and click Okay.

Now you have the restored Run command on lower right hand corner of start menu.

Firefox 3 beta 2 is available for download and testing purposes. Firefox 3 Beta 2 includes approximately 900 improvements over the previous beta, including fixes for stability, performance, memory usage, platform enhancements and user interface improvements. Many of these improvements were based on community feedback from the previous beta.

Google Analytics updates

Google AnalyticsLast week Google announced that they are adding several updates to Google Analytics including the ability to graph multiple data points at once, ga.js tracking, and six new languages.

The major addition is the comparative reporting. Users can now choose two metrics and compare them on a graph. For example, visits can be compared against bounce rates. There are 25 metrics that may be compared to one another. Currently, the reporting feature only allows for two metrics to be compared.

Also, Google recommends you update your “urchin.js” JavaScript page code with the the new code that is located by going to the Website Profiles page, click “Edit” on the desired profile, then, “Check Status”. They state the the immediate benefit of installing the new code is the ability to track e-commerce transactions.

If anyone knows the solution for FTW 3 column blogger template pls help me. Because I like the template very much and I feel its very suitable for my blog. And also the home page size was more then 100 kb . The recommend maximum size for homepage is 80 kb. Blog size does not matter I can reduce the size by removing some codes.

Today I installed this new blog template. I like this blog design, Color & Font. But I dont like the date format used in this template. Also I want two sidebar in this template (I am working on this).

Another news is I am planning to create a blogger template. Soon I will create my own template and I will use the same for my blog. Don't worry I will also give the template for free download. Hope all these activities to be finished before this month/year [smile].

And now Microsoft enable @live.in email id for Indian. If you want @live.in email id go to sign up page and click on "Get it" button. Choose live.in from drop down box(default is live.in).

3. Orkut will display the list of friends who all are already signed up in orkut. And also not in your Orkut friends list.

Blogger has added OpenID commenting for BlogSpot. Now if someone is using AOL or LiveJournal or Wordpress, he is allowed to comment using his identity from these publishing services.
OpenID commenting is now live for all Blogger users, not just Draft users. A few updates with this release:
  • OpenID icons now appear on Post Pages in addition to comment.g; they have their own CSS class (openid-comment-icon) in case you'd like to customize their display
  • Nicknames with "www" in their URLs are now correctly parsed
  • Comments from Blogger/Google accounts now have the Blogger favicon
If your blog allows anonymous comments, OpenID-signed comments are enabled by default. Otherwise, you can turn on OpenID signed comments by restricting your Who Can Comment? setting to Registered Users - includes OpenID. This will exclude anonymous commenters.

Google just launched another new feature in Gmail. You can now chat with your buddies on AIM in Gmail Chat. To use this feature click on options link in chat module of Gmail and select sign in to AIM, AIM login will popup. Once you login all your AIM friends will be populated to your friends list and you can start chatting with them. You will get Aim icon in the right side of user name for AIM users as shown in the image.
